Burnout Photo of the Day: Toyota Aristo

Here are a couple of  YouTube videos of the car doing burnouts at the 2009 Gazzanats. It's running a 2JZ and T78 turbo with an external wastegate, so you're probably going to want to turn the sound up for these. If you're anything like me you'll watch it several times in a row just for the noise. The owner of this car also did the multi-coloured Cressida burnout I posted a few days ago: http://carscameraschronicillness.blogspot.com/2011/06/burnout-photo-of-day-toyota-cressida.html

I took the above photo during the second video, and as you'll notice in the clip, the car isn't visible for much of the session, depending on where you're standing. I also did a feature shoot on this car soon after Gazzanats for Zoom magazine.

It smokes the tyres pretty well in a straight line too. Just as a note, he's starting off in 3rd gear from a standstill on the line, then changing into 4th for the run along the strip.

And then in a this clip at 0:16, he's changing into 5th gear for the run down the straight, in the first run you can hear the car bouncing off the rev limiter in 4th quite a bit. If you look closely down by the fence at 1:14, that's me in my very stylish fluro yellow vest attempting to take photos.
