Random Car Spotting: Mercedes-Benz W108 280SEL

2007.

Photographer: Rohan Phillips
Camera: Canon EOS 33 film SLR
Lens: Canon 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6
Film: Fuji Velvia 50 colour transparency
 Exposure: Approx. 1/125 @ f/8.0

I came across this scene while taking a walk around the western side of the Adelaide CBD a few years ago. For a bit of a change I was shooting with my favourite colour transparency film, Fuji Velvia 50. Between buying the film and getting it processed and scanned, you're pretty much looking at $2 a photo.

That really makes you slow down, concentrate and make sure you know what you want before pressing the button. Being forced to be more careful was quite beneficial, I got quite a few keepers out of a 36 exposure roll of film, which is a much higher hit rate compared to the 'spray and pray' method you can get into the habit of doing with digital sometimes.
