To expand a little further on my painfully alliterated blog title, here are some of the posts you have to look forward to in the various categories, which naturally tend to overlap quite a bit.
-How and why I became interested in photography, and how I went from wondering why car photos I'd taken with a compact camera at night 30 metres away were too dark, to shooting feature cars and trucks professionally for automotive magazines, as well as winning a few awards here and there.

-A brief review and links to inspirational photographer portfolio sites and blogs; for example, I've been a fan of Chip Litherland's work for several years now, after coming across his images through the sportsshooter.com message board. He has a fantastic eye for shapes, patterns, colours and layering. Just looking through his blog is a lesson in using colours, light, shapes and shadows to produce memorable images, with some interesting behind the scenes stories to boot.

(Darkroom print from B&W film, personally printed at Open Access College, using a special technique known as Solarisation/The Sabatier Effect, made in 2003)
The local paper did a small article on me and the photo winning an award at the Royal Adelaide Show. It's kind of depressing reading how I'm talking about getting better... at 18 years old in 2003. 8 years later and at 26, I've gone backwards pretty severely by comparison.
-Photos of my old dog Kody, a hilarious and endearingly deranged Staffordshire Bull Terrier, a faithful family pet from between 1997 and late 2006, when we sadly had to put her down due to a severe anxiety disorder.

-My experiences working for a function photography business in 2004/2005, which was mostly attempting to sell very mediocre happy snaps for very little money. As well as repeatedly being asked for drinks, as apparently wearing a vest and stretchy tie turns you into a waiter, no matter how big your camera and flash is.
-How what should have been a simple job to shoot photos for a country Bed & Breakfast brochure, turned into an expensive and awkward situation. It involved bad photos, a disappointed client, a mistaken but well intentioned phone call about a 'stolen' quad, the quad bike running out of petrol, a long walk with heavy gear along kilometres of dirt road, an embarrassed photographer, the police racing up behind me in a paddy wagon with lights flashing, hundreds of dollars in fines and a court appearance, in addition to a horse stalking me around the property, which repeatedly tried to eat my water bottle and tripod while I took photos. And the physical extertion off all this left me in severe pain for the next week. The job was such an epic failure on so many levels it crossed into an impressive example of Murphy's Law.
-And closely related to the above topic, 'Stupid photography-related things I've said and done...'
Which is a big list. Everything from accidentally turning off my own compact digital camera at a party while trying to take a happy snap of my girlfriend and I, even though there's only two buttons to choose from; to putting my camera bag too close to the edge of a table which caused nearly $3000 damage overnight when it fell off (photo below); to making up the 'rule of thirds' in describing my photos when I first did photography as a Year 12 subject, as I completely missed the boat on what it meant at the time.

-Photography is illegal...apparently: Photos of signs, notices and so on banning people from taking photos of things like train stations, because anyone with a camera who also likes trains is clearly a terrorist. And several stories about being unreasonably threatened by random people, getting kicked out of a shopping centre, and security guards possibly forwarding my details to ASIO for taking photos of trucks near a fuel storage area.
